Exploring the “Schatzalp” in Davos, Switzerland — a former tuberculosis sanatorium that inspired Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain (published in 1924). In the novel, protagonist Hans Castorp arrives for a short visit and ends up staying seven years, suspended between life, death, and the passage of time.
